There are four disability benefits programs that offer monthly cash benefits to Veterans: Disability Compensation, Disability Pension, Dependency and Indemnity Compensation, and Death Pension. Compensation and Pension are available to the veteran. Dependency and Indemnity Compensation may be available to a surviving spouse, dependent child or a dependent parent. Death Pension may be available to the surviving spouse. Special Monthly Benefits, called Aid and Attendance (A & A) and House Bound Benefits, are available under each of the four benefits programs.
